The Waldorf Way

My husband is finishing up his second week at Steiner College. He is in the teaching program that will be 5-weeks each summer for 4 summers.

I am very proud of him for going "back to school" after already having a doctoral degree. He is really enjoying the challenges, creativity and inspiration that are presented in daily lessons about philosophy, anthroposophy, curriculum, arts, eurhythmy, singing and more.

He started a blog to synthesize what he is learning: www.thewaldorfway.blogspot.com. We invite everyone to come read it, leave comments and follow the blog. I am learning so much from reading his blog each day!

Here are pictures of some of the watercoloring that he has been doing in painting class, as well as pictures of us on the gorgeous, magical campus when we go and visit Daddy during lunch (and visit the college bookstore, too, of course!). Watching Rick being inspired daily by the college is making me think about attending the handwork program in the future....Hmmm....

My husband went to Steiner College as well a couple of years age. Here it's two days a month + two whole weeks a year for 3 years. It was such a blessing and inspiration for the whole family!
And such fine watercolors he's made!!

I have a personal connection to the Waldorf community that you speak of, and feel so inspired by your regular experiences of it. I now live across the country, out of touch, but feel so close to those memories through your writing, and through Rick's pictures, which are truly lovely. Thank you for sharing, and I look forward to reading about Rick's journey through his blog.

Oh, I just loooooove that campus. I was able to attend a conference there during the autumn of 2007. It's so peaceful and beautiful there. :)

Your hubby's watercolors are lovely.

OMG, Jennifer! Rick's paintings are INCREDIBLE! Is there an end to his talent? My goodness...I'm so glad things are going so well with his studies and I most certainly will check out his blog. I knew he was talented, but those prints knocked my socks off! Very awesome :)
Your bunny & turtle are darn cute, btw! Take care and hope unpacking is going well :)

That fascinating to see what he's working on. I'm actually at the Steiner Institute in MA right now taking a class of my own. (just for personal/family development reasons) I hope he is having as wonderful, enriching time as I am!

Hello Jennifer

I do believe your husband is very talented indeed. Oh I would give anything to have my children experience art like this. We follow the curriculums to improve on our art techniques but sometimes just been shown and guided would be such a treat. I will definitely follow his blog. How very kind of him to share...

Have a wonderful weekend dear friend.

Warm regards
Suzanne
